Presentation Night 2018

posted 26 Feb 2018, 00:54 by Darren Barton   [ updated 26 Feb 2018, 00:54 ]

This year’s presentation night will be held at Brean Leisure Park (Farmers Tavern) on Sunday 13th May.

Reception to Year 3

Because of the restriction on space, we will be holding a separate party / presentation for all of the players in Reception through to Year 3 starting at 4:45pm in Dickies Bar.

There will be some games organised for the children, followed by the presentations for the penalty and five a side competitions. Food will then be provided for all players and can also be ordered for parents, brothers and sisters – Food order forms will be given out nearer the time.

All Other Age Groups

The presentation for all other age groups will start at 7pm in the Tavern, so people who have players in the younger age groups will be able to go straight into the main presentation after attending the younger players’ event.

There is plenty of parking at the venue and we expect the whole event to finish at around 9pm.

The order of the presentations will vary, with some awards being given out by type of award rather than in age order. This will retain the interest for all teams throughout the evening.

Mike Lang will be taking photo’s which will be available via his website

(, but please feel free to take your own photo’s or video’s if you want to.

The whole event is free and we look forward to seeing you there.

Christmas Party

posted 4 Oct 2017, 04:19 by Darren Barton   [ updated 12 Oct 2017, 23:35 ]

This year’s Christmas Party will be held on Saturday 9th December at the Lakeside Club, starting at 7pm and finishing at around 9:30pm (bar open until 11pm). All players and parents are welcome to come along and there will be the usual games with lots of prizes to be won on the night. Brothers and sisters of players are welcome to attend.

We will be holding a raffle and any prizes would be very much appreciated – either bring them on the night or give them to Paul Sealey or your manager.

Lakeside will be opening up the kitchen area for basket meals, chips etc.

It is very important that the children attending, especially from the younger age groups, have an adult with them who will be responsible for them on the night.

Members of the Club will not be supervising the children.

For your children’s safety, can you please also ensure that they stay within the Club and don’t go wandering around the holiday park.

The event is free and you don’t need tickets to attend – just come along and enjoy the evening.

Changing Room & Clubhouse Redevelopment Completed

posted 26 Oct 2016, 07:01 by Darren Barton   [ updated 3 Nov 2016, 01:35 ]

The redevelopment of the Burnham United changing rooms and clubhouse at Cassis Close is now complete.

The project, which cost a quarter of a million pounds, was financed by a major grant from Viridor Waste Management, some smaller grants from the local council and funds raised by the club.

The work was undertaken by local company Blue Swan Solutions.

The old changing room block, which was built in the 1960’s, was completely demolished and replaced with new changing facilities that meet FA regulations. The new facility has 4 changing rooms and 2 referees changing rooms, all with integrated showers and toilet facilities. There are also toilets for general use, a kit laundry room and storage areas.

The existing clubhouse was completely gutted and refurbished and now has full disabled access and facilities, a larger kitchen, new bar, a skittle alley and new furniture throughout.

The new and old parts of the building have all been re-roofed and the walls have been externally insulated to make the building warmer and more environmentally friendly.

The club would like to thank everyone involved in the refurbishment and rebuild and to thank Viridor and the local council for making the whole project possible.

Shown below are some pictures which show the transition from the old to the new building.

Flag Bearing at Ashton Gate

posted 13 Nov 2009, 16:16 by Darren Barton   [ updated 30 Mar 2011, 03:26 ]

The under 8's had the honour of welcoming Bristol City on to the pitch at Ashton Gate to face Leeds United. Twelve of our players waved their flags as the City and Leeds teams ran on to the pitch. It was a tremendous atmosphere and a day to remember for everyone. After performing the guard of honour the burnham players and their parents all got to watch the match from the stands.
The day was a great success and our thanks go to Duncan for organising the day.
Here's a video of the team in action...
